Shipyard Ball Club LLC ("Shipyard," "we," "us") runs an indoor baseball and softball training facility at 100 Hoods Lane in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and operates this website. We are a small local business, and we treat the information families share with us the way we would want ours treated.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and what you can ask us to do with it. By using this website or our services, you agree to what is described here.

Information you give us

We collect information you provide directly, which may include:

• Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
• A player's first name, age or birth year, and age group, so we can place them in the right clinic, league, or team
• Booking and membership details, including which sessions you reserve and how you use your monthly hours
• Emergency contact information and any injury or medical notes you choose to share with a coach
• Waivers and registration forms
• Messages you send us by email or through a form on this site
• Performance data from HitTrax, such as exit velocity and batted ball results, when a player uses a tracked cage

Information collected automatically

When you visit this site we receive standard technical information that does not identify you by name, including your browser type, device type, approximate location, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. Cookies are small files stored by your browser that let the site remember things like what is in your cart. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though parts of the site may stop working properly if you do.

Payment information

We do not collect or store credit card numbers. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment processors. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card, but the full card number never reaches us.

How we use your information

• To run your membership, process bookings, and issue door entry codes
• To place players in appropriate clinics, leagues, lessons, and teams
• To contact you about a session you booked, a schedule change, or a facility closure
• To send you email updates about clinics, leagues, and events, if you have asked to receive them

Children's privacy

Most of the players who train at Shipyard are under 18, and many are under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Accounts, bookings, and memberships are set up by a parent or guardian, and any information about a young player comes to us through that adult.

We collect only what we need to coach a player safely and keep a parent informed. We do not sell information about children, and we do not use it for advertising. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, please email us and we will delete it.

We ask for permission before using a photo or video of a minor in our marketing, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

• Service providers. Companies that help us operate, such as our website and payment platform, our booking and door access system, our email provider, and HitTrax. They may use your information only to provide that service to us.
• Coaches. A coach working with your player sees the information needed to coach them safely, including age group, emergency contact, and anything you have told us about an injury.
• Legal reasons. If the law requires it, or if we need to protect the safety of a player, a staff member, or the facility.
• Business transfer. If Shipyard is ever sold or merged, information may transfer with the business. This policy would continue to apply.

How we store and protect information

Your information is held in the systems we use to run the business, which keep data on secure servers with access controls and encryption in transit. Inside Shipyard, access is limited to the people who need it to do their job.

We keep information for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterward, so we can honor memberships, handle billing questions, and meet legal and insurance requirements. Waivers and incident records may be kept longer for liability reasons.

No system is completely secure. We use reasonable safeguards, but we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is fully protected.

Your choices

• Marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will take you off the list. We will still send messages about a booking you made or a change that affects you.
• Access and correction. Ask us what we hold about you or your player and we will tell you, and fix anything that is wrong.
• Deletion. Ask us to delete your information and we will, except where we are required to keep records such as signed waivers or transaction history.
• Photos. Tell us you would rather your player not appear in our photos or video, and we will honor it.
• Cookies. Manage or refuse cookies in your browser settings.

If you live somewhere with specific privacy rights, such as Massachusetts, another US state with a privacy law, or the EU or UK, tell us and we will handle your request under those rules.

Links to other websites

This site may link to other websites, such as a registration platform, a league site, or a partner organization. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your information. Read their policies before sharing anything.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business changes. The current version always lives on this page with the date it was last revised. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell you by email or by a notice on the site.
